Why doesn't Aycana use frozen fruits ?

When you buy freeze dried fruit , you will not know exactly where that fruit is from or how long ago it was frozen or how long it it was from when it was picked to when it was frozen.

Frozen Fruit is a Commodity like Gas or Gold 

Many fruits and vegetables are grown in China, frozen and kept frozen until the price has reached a profitable level for the frozen fruit merchant. It is shipped to the snack or ingredients  company , packed and then sold.  During our market testing we discovered 'Australian' freeze dried snacks for sale in Canada containing 'Chinese Produce'.

During freezing , travel , defrosting and subsequent 'freeze-drying', 5- 25% of nutrients , vitamins,  flavor and color are typically lost. This is why Freeze Dried product is typically a 'dusty and bleached' appearance, often almost unrecognizable from the original fresh fruit in appearance or taste.
